Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 09/18/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspection began at 9:45 am and ended at 1:30 pm. There were 35 children in care with seven staff. The children were observed playing, in group activities, eating lunch and preparing for naps. Six staff?s records and five children?s records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-E-1
Description: Based on record reviews, the center failed to have one staff with current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed six staff's records. One of six records reviewed (staff record #3) did not have current CPR certification. It expired 7/2019.

Plan of Correction: The director has contacted a CPR trainer and is waiting for a response from the trainer to set up the training.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-E-2
Description: Based on record reviews, the center failed to have one staff trained in first aid.
Evidence:
1. The inspector reviewed six staff's records. One of six records reviewed (staff record #3) did not have acceptable first aid training. The staff had completed Mental Health First Aid.

Plan of Correction: The director has contacted a first aid trainer to set up the training and is waiting for a response.
