A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/01/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. At the time of inspectors' arrival there were 71 infant to school aged children in care with 14 staff members. Children were observed participating in educational activities, lunch, nap, handwashing and toileting, and transitioning between activities. A sample of 7 children's records and 7 staff records were reviewed. Injury reports and medications were also reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The areas of noncompliance are detailed in the violation notice and were discussed with the Director at the conclusion of this inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-510-B Description: Based on record review and interview it was determined the center did not ensure that for each group of children, staff maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: 1. There was no record of children in attendance for 10/1/19 completed in the four year old classroom. 2. Staff confirmed that they had not completed the attendance for the day yet. Plan of Correction: Staff will be retrained on keeping attendance.
