Had a discussion with program director regarding appropriate medication administration forms and rest time guidelines.

Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 11:25am and 1:20pm. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 33 children with 4 staff; all ratios were incompliance. A total of 5 children?s files and 5 staff files were reviewed. The children were observed participating in show-n-tell, eating lunch and having quiet time. Interactions between staff and children is positive. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the center did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Evidence: The lunch that was offered to the children from the center was pizza, a fruit cup and a chocolate chip cookie. There was no vegetable offered with today's lunch.Plan of Correction: A fruit and vegetable is usually served but Thursdays are pizza days and I'm not sure why a vegetable isn't served. We always have it with a fruit cup. I'll speak to the Principal and let her know the guidelines so that we can make sure a vegetable is served.
