Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on May 24, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 76 children present, ranging in age from 3 months 12 years. All staff must have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training certification in first aid and CPR within 90 days of hire. All children with diagnosed food allergies must have a written Allergy Action Plan completed by a physician. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov.
