Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 10/17/2019 from 9:30 A.M.-1:30 P.M. At the time of the inspection 31 children were in care with nine staff and one administrator present. Five children records, fourteen staff records, one board member background check, four medication and required documentation, six injury reports, emergency plan, first aid kits, emergency supplies, fire inspection, health inspection, emergency plan, playground, and posted required information were reviewed. Children were observed during infant feeding, free play, behavioral guidance, science experiment, handwashing, diapering, morning snack, lunch time, infant one on one interactions, and naptime. The exceptions to compliance are noted on the violation notice.

Description: Based on review of medications, the center failed to ensure that a nonprescription drug was not kept beyond the expiration date.

Evidence:
1. There was a nonprescription medication that expired on 09/2019 for Child 4M.
2. Staff verified that the medication had expired in 09/2019.

Plan of Correction: Administration will contact the parents and request new medication to be brought to the center.
