This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on May 27, 2020 and concluded on June 05, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were zero children present and one staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-B Description: Based on record review and discussion with staff, the vendor failed to ensure subsequent TB screenings for staff took place at least every two years from the date of the initial screening, or more frequently if recommended by a physician.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #2 indicated that the last TB screening occurred 01/31/2018.Plan of Correction: Staff will be reminded to renew their TB's every 2 years.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B Description: Based on record review, the vendor failed to ensure within the first 90 days of employment or subsidy vendor approval all staff who work directly with children shall complete Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
Evidence:
1. The record for Staff #1 indicated that the date of hire was 01/30/2020 and there was no documentation of Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff.
2. Staff verified the above information.Plan of Correction: Staff will be reminded they have 90 days to complete or they will not be allowed to work.
