This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on February 23, 2021 and concluded on February 25, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 45 children present and 10 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-4 Description: Based on a review of staff records and verification from the director, the record for one staff member did not contain two of the required out of state background checks.
Evidence:
1. The record for staff #1 (date of hire 9/04/18) did not contain a completed out of state criminal history name check and a out of state sex offender registry check from the state the staff member had lived in within the past five years.
2. The director confirmed that the two out of state checks had not been completed.Plan of Correction: The out of state sex offender check has been completed. For out of state criminal history name check in process of obtaining information on if I need this and if I do, will complete as soon as possible.
