This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on March 11, 2021 and concluded on March 15, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 12 children present and four staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-H Description: Based on review of staff records, the facility did not ensure staff completed the Annual Virginia Health and Safety Updated training for child care staff required annually of subsidy vendors their staff.
Evidence:
1. The most recent completion of the Health and Safety annual training for staff #2 was dated 03/28/2019. Staff #2 did not have documentation of completing the annual training for the 2020 year. The training was due for staff #2 by 03/28/2020.
2. The most recent completion of the Health and Safety annual training for staff #3 was dated 08/23/2019. Staff #3 did not have documentation of completing the annual training for the 2020 year. The training was due for staff #3 by 08/23/2020.Plan of Correction: Per the administration: Updated training requirement will be completed.
