Comments:

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 12/4/19 from 11:45am until 1:00pm. At the time of entrance, there were 12 children in care, for a total of 22 points, with the provider and an assistant. A sample of 5 children's records and 3 provider/household member/assistant records were reviewed. Children were observed participating in morning learning activities, eating lunch and transitioning to nap time. Lunch service, restroom and hand washing procedures were also observed. First aid and emergency supplies, the emergency preparedness plan, documentation of emergency practice drills and required family day home postings were reviewed. The provider does not administer medication to children in care at this time. One violation in the area of emergencies is identified on the violation notice and was discussed with the provider during the exit interview.

Description:	Based on a review of the emergency drill log and interview, the provider did not ensure that a record of emergency evacuation drills shall be maintained for one year. Evidence: 1. There was no documentation of emergency evacuation drills for the months of September, October and November 2019. 2. The provider confirmed that emergency evacuation drills for the months of September, October and November 2019 were completed but not documented.
Plan of Correction:	The provider will ensure that the emergency evacuation procedures are practiced each month and documented on the emergency drill log.
