Richmond - Applications for the Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program for the fall semester 2003 are due Aug. 20.

The undergraduate scholarships, which are federally funded, are administered by the Virginia Department of Social Services to assist individuals who are either employed in or planning to enter the field of child care and development and want to attend preparatory courses at one of Virginia’s institutions of higher learning.

Scholarship awards pay the cost of tuition and technology fees to a lifetime maximum of $1,546.80

To obtain an application or information about eligibility, call the toll-free scholarship hotline at (866) 636-1608 or visit http://www.dss.virginia.gov/family/cc/scholarship.html.

Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to all applicants who submit completed applications and meet program eligibility requirements.
