OR provides accurate information and research expertise to state and local staff and partners of the Virginia Social Services System (VSSS). Its responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with research and survey design
  • Developing databases to facilitate research
  • Analyzing data
  • Providing technical assistance on data analysis
  • Conducting and managing comprehensive program evaluations
  • Producing a performance indicator system for local VDSS offices
  • Operating the VDSS Institutional Review Board
