The Virginia Child Care Provider Scholarship Program is a tuition assistance
program offering current and future child care providers a foundation in the
care and development of children. The program, funded through Virginia's share
of the federal Child Care and Development Fund, provides assistance for providers to attend courses at Virginia institutions of higher learning.
The application periods each year are: June 1 - Aug. 10 for fall semesters;
Oct. 15 - Dec. 15 for spring semesters; and March 15 - May 1 for summer semesters.

Qualifications to Apply
To qualify to apply you must meet one of the following criteria:
- You are currently providing child care in Virginia
- You are a resident of Virginia employed in a child care program outside of Virginia
- You are a resident of Virginia planning to become employed in child care.
Scholarships are not available for those who are or plan to become teachers
or teachers' aides in the public or private school systems. They are available,
however, to public or private school personnel who are employed in education
and care preschool programs or before-school or after-school child care programs.

- Advanced Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Education
- Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Career Studies Certificate in Child Care Management
- Career Studies Certificate in Early Childhood Education
- Career Studies Certificate in School-Age Child Care Education
