Comments:

The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing office on 6-26-19. Interviews were conducted, observation of resident during lunch meal in the dining room and testing of the facility's call system were conducted as it relate to allegations that the facility staff took too long to provide residents' needing assistance to return to room, call bell system is faulty, residents have difficulty using system, and residents' uncomfortable with facility new electronic sign/sign out system. The information gathered during the investigation did not support the allegations, so the complaint is determined to be "not valid.". There were no violations resulting from this complaint investigation. The licensing inspector did suggest that the administrator and staff monitor resident's need for assistance to and from dining room during evenings and weekends when the facility does not have as many staff present to provide residents with assistance to meals. The inspector also suggested that the facility always have someone present to provide assistance signing in/out using the new electronic system and the current geriatric population being served. The inspector also suggested facility monitoring calling system and residents who may have difficulty using system due to physical limitations, i.e. arthritic hands.
