Comments:

The Piedmont Licensing Office received an anonymous complaint in regards to Runk and Pratt of Forest. The Complaint alleges that the facility discharged a resident and will not release their medical information to the residents power of attorney. The LI for Runk & Pratt conducted an unannounced complaint investigation at the facility on 6-25-19 from 3pm until 4pm under the supervision of the LA. The record for resident 1 was reviewed and interviews were conducted with staff. Based on all information available for review resident 1 was discharged from the facility on 6/12/2019. The facility received a letter dated 6/19/19 from resident 1's Power of Attorney (POA) requesting a copy of all medical records pertaining to resident 1. The facility has a policy for up to 10 days to prepare/release copies of resident medical records. On 6/26/19 the LI received a copy of a receipt for certified mail where resident 1's medical records were sent to the POA.
