Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on Friday, May 18, 2018 from approximately 3:10 pm until 5:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Upon the licensing inspector arrival there was observation of twelve children in care in the gymnasium with two staff present. The inspector was notified that additional children will be transported to the site later. The census for today's inspection consisted of 35 children and 3 staff. During this inspection, the children were observed by the licensing inspector completing a variety of activities to include engaged in free play with various materials, interacting with their peers and staff, participating in open discussion with staff about Mother's day gifts, lining up to complete bathroom breaks and handwashing in preparation for snack, and eating snack in the cafeteria. The children's snack today consisted of a anytime meal, baby carrots, apple slices, and milk. During this inspection, the licensing inspector also completed observations of parent pick up. The following information was reviewed: emergency supplies, menu, fire and shelter-in-place drills, injury/accident reports, and children's allergies. Medication is being administered, medications, and written authorizations were reviewed for the center's compliance. There were six children?s records and three staff's emergency contacts and required certificates of completion were reviewed during this inspection. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Tiffany Harris, at (757) 403-3045.
