Thank you for your time and assistance during the unannounced monitoring inspection conducted on June 5, 2018, between the hours of approximately 10:15 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Fifty-four (54) children were enrolled and thirty-two (32) children were in the care of ten staff members during the on site inspection. One additional staff member arrived during the inspection and assisted, as needed. Staff members were very helpful and knowledgeable of center policies/procedures during the facility owner's temporary absence. Five children's records and seven staff records were reviewed and/or updated. One child's medications, accompanying authorization forms and two children's topical ointments were reviewed. Safety equipment (first aid kits, flashlights and radio), posted information (license, licensing inspection documentation, emergency evacuation diagram/plan, emergency telephone numbers, and classroom schedules) and available documents (emergency evacuation drill & shelter-in-place records, attendance logs, infant daily records, injury report forms, annual emergency plan update and local agency reports) were observed/reviewed. The daily schedules accurately reflected the activities provided. Lunches and snacks were provided by the children's parents. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play (classroom toys, block play, puzzles; painting and playdoh); diapering, restroom and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime; infant care; and pick-up/departure of children. The children had played outdoors prior to the arrival of the licensing inspector, on this date. The playground was inspected, including new play activities and equipment. Staff/child interactions were observed to be positive, supportive and age appropriate. The facility was observed to be clean and supplied with a variety of age/stage appropriate learning and play materials/toys. Children's artwork was displayed. Substantial compliance with the licensing standards continues to be maintained; no violations were cited during this inspection. Please contact me if you have questions regarding this inspection, the licensing standards and/or if I may be of assistance to you (540) 430-9262.
