Background check requirements were reviewed and T.A. was given on new indoor play equipment.
Two licensing inspectors conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 9:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. There were 52 children in care with staff supervising at all times. The director and owner were also present. The children were observed playing at centers, during lunch, at circle time, playing outside and preparing for naps. Five staff and five children?s records were reviewed. Violations from the previous inspection were also reviewed and all had been corrected except one. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-B Description: Based on record review, the center did not have all the required immunizations for children. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five children's records. Two of five records did not have up to date immunization documentation. Child record #1 and record #2 needed up to date immunizations. Plan of Correction: The director will get the up to date immunizations from the parents.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain the outside of the center in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The inspectors observed black landscaping material in multiple places that was presenting a tripping hazard. Plan of Correction: The director stated they would cut the cloth away and /or put mulch over it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not label bottles or date them. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed three cups and bottles in the refrigerator in the infant's room that were not labeled with all the required information. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.
