06/07/18 Arrived 10:00am Departed 1:05pm An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Forty-seven children were in care today with eight staff. The children were eating lunch, going on a field trip, playing games and working in the garden. Previous violations, medication staff and children's files were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-J
Description: Based on a review of the medication, the facility failed to keep all medication in a locked place. Evidence: 1. Two bottles of medication prescribed for two children in care were in the first aid kit in a cabinet which was not locked.

Plan of Correction: The site supervisor will insure that all medications are kept in a locked area.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N
Description: Based on a review of the medication, the facility failed to return all medication to the parent within 14 days or discard when no longer needed by the child. Evidence: 1. There was one prescription medicine in the locked box which was no longer needed by the child.

Plan of Correction: The site supervisor will insure that medications no longer need by children in care are returned to the parent or discarded.
