A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on June 12, 2018 to review the supplemental health and safety requirements. Ninety-seven (97) children were enrolled and sixty-three (63) children were in the care of ten staff members, in seven classrooms, during the on site inspection. Three additional staff members were present and assisted, as needed. Six children's records and six staff records were reviewed. Five children's medications, five children's topical ointments, accompanying authorization forms and administration logs were also reviewed. Activities observed on this date included: indoor play - toys, coloring, reading and board games); outdoor play; wading pools/swimming; restroom and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime; afternoon snack; and pick-up/departure of children. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined covered all of the subsidy health and safety requirements. Only the subsidy requirements that were not covered in the licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Areas of the requirements discussed included recording children's attendance in each group (to reflect the actual children present at any one time) and revising the emergency plan to reflect "reunification" of children, if necessary. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were cited during this inspection.
