Comments:
An announced record review was conducted on June 14, 2018. The licensing inspector reviewed Administration, Background Checks and Licensure and Registration Procedures. The sample size consisted of three staff records. Areas of noncompliance are identified on the Violation Notice.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A
Description: Based on record review, in two of three staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that each staff record was documented with all required information. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on June 14, 2018, there was no documentation of orientation training in the records for Staff #1 and Staff #2.

Plan of Correction: We will ensure that orientation is done the day of hire for all employees.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C
Description: Based on record review, in two of three staff records reviewed, the licensee did not ensure that program directors and staff who work directly with children shall annually attend 16 hours of staff development activities that shall be related to child safety and development and the function of the center. During the inspection conducted on June 14, 2018, the following annual training information was documented between June 2017-May 2018: Staff #1-three hours of training Staff #2-two hours of training

Plan of Correction: Going forward we will ensure that substitutes receive the same amount of training as teachers.
