Comments:
The inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. There were 13 infants and children in care with staff supervising at all times. The director and cook were also present. Children were observed playing outside and inside, resting, being fed a bottle, and eating lunch at the tables. Five children's records and six staff records were reviewed and one new board officer background checks were reviewed. Violations from the last inspection had been corrected. The area of non-compliance is identified on the violation notice. Please contact your inspector at 276-698-9981 with any questions.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not maintain the center outside in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed concrete approximately 3 feet long and 2 inches high on the playground next to the concrete wall presenting sharp edges and a tripping hazard.

Plan of Correction: The director will talk with maintenance on how to fix the problem.
