An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-1:00pm. At the time of inspection, 47 children (one year through five years) were directly supervised by 7 staff and ratios were in compliance. The sample size consisted of 6 staff records and two children's medications. Children were observed during lunch time (veggie burgers, pineapples, potato fries, and milk), engaged in group activities, and learning about countries. There was an abundant supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Area of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-N Description: Based on review of two medications, the center did not dispose of one medication or return the medication to the parent within 14 days of expired medication authorization. Evidence: Child #1 had a medication available on site with an authorization form that expired on October 26, 2017. Plan of Correction: The medication will be disposed of or returned to the parents.
