Comments:
An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted with the center director and center staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see that report for details). Reminder: all staff must have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training within the first 90 days of hire. All staff must have documentation of first aid and CPR within the first 30 days of hire. There are three children with diagnosed food allergies, but two are missing the required allergy action plan completed by the physician. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov. If you have specific questions regarding the subsidy program, visit our website at http://www.dss.virginia.gov/family/cc/assistance_providers.cgi
