- Technical Assistance:
Site consultation was given on the following items: Developing a sense of ownership by displaying children's artwork in their classrooms, access to supplies for children ages 4yrs and above, playground (swings, and teeter-totter), ensuring secondary means of evacuation is practiced during drills.
An unnanounced monitoring visit was conducted today from 10:45am to 2:00pm. All rooms were observed to be in ratio with appropriate number of staff. Observed children transitioning from playground to classroom, literacy activity in 2 rooms, lunch being served (turkey and cheese sandwich, cucumber slices, apple sauce and milk), and infant care. Reviewed 3 staff files and 5 children's files, medication authorizations and storage, as well as emergency preparation. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of children's files, 2 out of 5 were missing employment information for parents. Evidence: Child#4 was missing 1 parent's employer name and phone number and Child#5 was missing both parents employer name and phone number. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents tonight for the information
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-210-A Description: Based on review of staff files and interview with Director, 1 out of 3 staff were missing documentation to qualify them for a Program Lead position. Evidence: Staff #2 was hired as a Program Lead without supporting documentation. Plan of Correction: Staff will take the required training in order to be Program Lead.
