Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection, at which play groups, outdoor time, story time, activities, art, group time, lunch time, and personal hygiene were observed. Children were observed; and staff and children files and other documentation were reviewed. There were 52 children, aged 2 moths-5 years, were found to be in care with 8 staff, kitchen staff, office staff, and floaters. Please contact me if you need further assistance. Thank you for your cooperation. This inspection began at 8:40am and concluded at 12 noon.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on review of the outside play grounds the facility failed to maintain compliance with this standard as required relating to tripping hazards. Evidence: On the small playground outside of the preschool classrooms the play area with outdoor carpeting had numerous tripping hazards as the carpeting has torn and is partially rolled over itself.

Plan of Correction: A maintenance request for corrective action has been submitted and they have come out to assess the area for removal of the carpeting and replacement with another form of surfacing. Follow up contact was made again during the inspection today and the replacement of material will occur by the 14th of this month.
