Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:30pm. There were 43 children directly supervised by 12 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 4 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating coming inside from the playground, washing hands, sitting and reading books. Today was the first day of the school year. Teachers were soothing children and helping children understand the routines of the school. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place. Evidence: In the kitchen between the sea turtles and jellyfish, Cleaners were stored in an unlocked cabinet underneath the sink.

Plan of Correction: At the time of inspection, the sink was locked by a staff member.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G
Description: Based on observation, when food brought from home the center shall label the food containers with the name and date. Evidence: 3 of 4 lunch boxes were not labeled with a date.

Plan of Correction: Date labels were place on the lunch boxes at the time of inspection.
