Licensing inspector discussed children's files (60-A) with staff.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 1pm-2:30pm. There were 11 children in the direct care and supervision of 2 staff. A sample of 5 children?s records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed reading books and napping. There was one staff new to this location since the last visit. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-J Description: Based on observation, the injury prevention plan was not updates at least annually. Evidence: The injury prevention plan was last updated 5/22/2017 Plan of Correction: I will update the injury plan.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on interview with staff, staff records were incomplete. Evidence: Staff A did not have emergency contact information on file. Plan of Correction: Staff A will complete required form tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, electrical outlets were not covered with protective covers. Evidence: One electrical outlet was not covered on the wall near the bookshelf. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review, the center did not practice a minimum of two shelter-in-place drills per year. Evidence: There was one shelter-in-place drill that was practiced for the 2017-2018 school year. This drill occurred 03/20/2018. Plan of Correction: All drills will be completed and logged for this school year.
