63.2 Child Abuse & Neglect
- Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on locking cabinets in all classrooms and ceiling stain in the younger 4's classroom.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today from 10:00-12:15. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Observed children in care painting with tempera paint, dancing with a enrichment teacher, playing with manipulative toys and transition to lunch. Lunch served today was chicken nuggets, sweet potato puffs, and broccoli. Records for one newly hired staff, 5 children and medication authorizations and storage was also reviewed. Emergency preparation was current. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review and discussion, there is one child (Child A), with no documentation of an annual update of records on file. Evidence: Child A is enrolled today with a start date of 1/2/2017 and there is no documentation of an annual update being conducted since the child began. Plan of Correction: I will have the parent sign and date the form when they return.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, interior areas of the center have not been maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence: 1) In the Two's classroom, there is a wall, near the entryway, that has a large area, accessible to children, where yellow paint is peeling off. 2) In the Younger Four's classroom, there is a wall near the cubby area that has a large area, accessible to children, where yellow paint is peeling off. Plan of Correction: We put in a work order and will follow-up on the work order to have it fixed.
