- Technical Assistance:
Discussed the following with the administration: dates of acceptable TB tests for new hires, acceptable documentation of children's physicals, methods to warm up breastmilk and formula, and the use of neosporin at the center.
An unannounced 2 month follow-up inspection (from the center being placed on a Provisional license in September) was conducted today. The physical plant, children and staff records were inspected between 2:00-3:40pm. There were 49 children with 8 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed enjoying free play, listening to music, reading books and resting during nap time. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A-7 Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 5 children's records does not have an action to take in an emergency situation due to an intolerance to food. Evidence 1. Child #4 has documentation of having a "dairy sensitivity". However, there is no written action to take in an emergency situation. Plan of Correction: The Director will ask the parent to provide this information.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 5 staff records does not have all required information. Evidence 1. Staff #4 does not have written information to demonstrate that the individual possesses the education required by the job position. Plan of Correction: The director will ask staff #4 to get this documentation.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-210-A Description: Based on file review, 1 out of 5 staff does not have documentation to support being qualified as a Lead teacher. Evidence 1. Staff #2 does not have documentation of hours of training in order to meet the requirements to be a Lead teacher. Plan of Correction: The director is working with staff to complete CDA certifications.
