Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on December 5, 2018 from approximately 10:45 a.m. until 1:05 p.m. Upon entrance there were 6 children and 3 staff present with children. Additional staff arrived during the inspection. The record review sample consisted of 5 children's records and 5 staff records. The playground was not inspected due to inclement weather. Children were observed coloring, eating lunch and preparing for rest period. The results of the inspection were reviewed and verified with the center director. Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure all restrooms are equipped with all required items soap, toilet paper, and disposable towels or an air dryer within reach of children. Evidence: During the inspection on December 5, 2018, the restroom in the Wild Ones Classroom did not have paper towels for the children to dry their hands

Plan of Correction: The center director will put papertowels in the bathroom.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F
Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure that when centers choose to provide meals or snacks, they shall follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Evidence: During the inspection on December 5, 2018, children age range 2 to 4 were observed eating lunch and they were served chicken, corn, baked apples and milk. The menu stated milk, chicken, corn, apples and roll. The children were not served a roll (grain item). The lunch served did not meet the USDA requirements.

Plan of Correction: The center director will make sure to follow the menu and the food is served to meet the requirements.
