Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-12:30pm. There were 61 children directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating painting, doing candy cane crafts, learning planets, playing with tamborines, washing their dishes, cleaning up their messes, and eating snack. Snack is provided by the families. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-80-A
Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure all classrooms kept a written record of children in attendance each day. Evidence: Room 3 did not have an up to date attendance for the day. At the time of inspection, children's attendance was not checked off.

Plan of Correction: We will discuss with teachers taking attendance as it occurs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-A
Description: Based on record review, a staff member did not receive training by the end of their first day of assuming job responsibilities. Evidence: Staff 3 did not have documentation of receiving training by the end of their first day of assuming job responsibilities.

Plan of Correction: Orientation was conducted and documentation will be placed in the file.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D
Description: Based on record review, the center did not conduct monthly practice evacuation drills every month. Evidence: The center did not have documentation of evacuation drills conducted for July 20218 and August 2018.

Plan of Correction: We will contact facilities manager and ensure drills are conducted over the summer.
