63.2 Facilities & Programs.
A Subsidy Health and safety inspection was conducted on 12/17/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspection began at 9:40 and ended at 2:00 . There were 37 children in care with staff supervising at all times. The children were observed playing inside and outside, having lunch, being fed a diaper, washing hands and during rest time . Five staff records and five children?s records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSSI inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Baed on record review, the center did not have documentation of child updates of up-to-date information in the child's record. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed five children's records. One of five records (#1) did not complete updates to the file. The last update was completed 10/26/2017. Plan of Correction: The director will document in the child's record that new information has been documented.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not keep all hazardous substances locked. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed a spray bottle of Clorox in the school-age room on top of the cabinet. No children were present. 2. The inspector observed a bottle of liquid laundry detergent in the office by the school-age classroom. Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection. Staff will be reminded that are substances are locked at all times.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-F Description: Based on measurement, the center had bare flooring under climbing portions of indoor slides and climbing equipment. Evidence: 1. The inspector and director measured the indoor slide and and the red steeps and it measured over 18 inches and there were some areas that did not have padding on the floor. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. Staff will be notified to make sure mats remain in the place.
