Discussion on adequate supervision guidelines and spacing staff throughout the programming area to ensure that all children are within sight and sound of staff at all times.
An unannouced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 31 children with 2 staff present on site. When the inspector arrived, children were enjoying pizza in celebration of the holiday season. Hand washing and bathroom procedures were observed. Some children transitioned to basketball in small groups, table top activities such as Monopoly and rubik's cube and completing their gingerbread houses with icing and candy. One medication on site today. Authorization and effective dates were complete and current. A total of 5 children's records and MAT, CPR/First Aid and Daily Health observation certifications were verified. Staff files are reviewed annually at the administrative office which includes a review of background checks. This inspection began at 3pm and ended at 4:40pm. Thank you for your cooperation today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on staff record review, one staff record was found incomplete. Evidence: An emergency contact for Staff #2 was not found on site. Plan of Correction: We will have the administrative office scan this information for this staff to the ipad.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-F Description: Based on observation of the children in care, staff failed to provide adequate sight supervision to 2 children in care. Evidence: Child #1 was observed by the Licensing Inspector standing on a chair and jumping of the chair near the basketball hoop. Child #1 and #2 was observed by the Licensing Inspector climbing and sitting on top of the basketball rack. Both these incidence were brought to the staff's attention by the Licensing Inspector. Plan of Correction: We will ensure that staff are positioned throughout the programming area to ensure that proper supervision is provided.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation of the required postings, one posting was not current. Evidence: The snack menu posted was for the month of November. Plan of Correction: I had it printed but didn't post it. I will be sure that each month is posted.
