A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 12/5/2018 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Reviewed and observed care of children, emergency preparation, records, medication and physical plant. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. In addition, new Subsidy requirements that will be enforced starting December 14, 2018 were reviewed. The program will need to add continuity of care to the emergency plan, address group size if applicable and train staff on allergy awareness for children in care. . Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-4 Description: Based on staff review, 1 of 5 staff records reviewed did not contain documentation that the individual had obtained first aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #3 was hired 6/2018 and has not completed first aid and CPR certification as required for all staff. Plan of Correction: Staff completed CPR/First Aid in June 2017, certification verification is being located.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B Description: Based on a file review, 2 of 5 staff has not completed the required VA Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #3 was hired 6/2018 and has no training documentation that the Preservice training was completed. Staff #5 was hired 5/2018 and has no training documentation that the Preservice training was completed. Plan of Correction: Staff have until the end of the day 12/19/18 to complete.
