Standard #: 22VAC40-185-40-E
Complaint related: Yes
Description: Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure that the operational responsibilities of the licensee shall ensure that the center's services are maintained in compliance with the center's own policies and procedures that are required by these standards. Evidence: The facility failed to follow their written food policy as demonstrated by the following incident: 1. The written center food policy, which is posted on the parent board, indicates that breakfast will be served from 7:00am - 8:00am. 2, On 11/29/2018 three children, who arrived at 7:45am, were not served breakfast as the prepared breakfast of oatmeal , peaches and milk was gone according to staff present. 3. Administrative staff confirmed that the three children were not served breakfast upon arrival at 7:45am because the prepared oatmeal was gone.

Plan of Correction: On the day in question, we had plenty of food in our pantry, however we ran low during meal service and a staff member told the parent that we didn't have enough. All staff have been retrained regarding meal service. On Saturday, December 22nd we had a staff meeting/training that covered meal time guidelines which included providing breakfast as well as providing enough for seconds during the entire meal time allotment.
