An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 40 children in care, with a total of 6 staff members assigned to their direct ongoing supervision. In addition, there were 3 co-op parents on site and actively engaged with the children. Children's records, board member records, staff records, background checks, staff training, emergency preparedness items, the physical plant, and classroom programming were inspected today. The children were observed attending music class, eating snack, playing outside, creating art projects, engaging in creative play activities, building with blocks, and enjoying free choice activity time. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:15am and 12:10pm. Thank you for meeting with me today. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E
Description: Based on a review of emergency drill documentation, it was determined that not all classes documented their shelter-in-place drills for the 2017-2018 school year. Evidence: Each teacher is responsible for documenting their own classroom's shelter-in-place drills. Classroom A recorded only one drill. Classroom B did not record either drill.

Plan of Correction: All classes and students practiced two shelter-in-place drills. All staff will be reminded to record each drill when they take place.
