Comments:
Thank you for your time and assistance with the unannounced renewal inspection conducted today, February 5, 2019. The on-site inspection was from 11:55a.m. to 3:10p.m. On this date, there were 19 children present in one classroom and in the care of two staff members with an extra staff member available to assist were needed. There were a total of 20 children enrolled in the preschool program. There were five children's records reviewed. The staff had not changed since their records were reviewed on 09/28/2018 and those records were updated. Two staff members and three children were interviewed. The medication and medication paperwork were reviewed for one child. Afternoon snack met USDA guidelines and consisted of cheese crackers and juice. There were no violations of the licensing standards issued. The staff were enjoying working with MACAA's new Creative Curriculum. The theme for the month was Simple Machines. Some of the items observed and reviewed were: outdoor play, fun playing with a parachute, the amount of resilient surfacing in the fall zone of the climbing structure, transitions, bathroom and hand washing procedures, story time, nap time, afternoon snack, choice time on the rug, singing, dismissal procedures, emergency supplies, first aid kit, injury reports, annual health and fire inspections, and documentation of emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills, .
