Comments:
Licensing inspector arrived at 8:15am and departed at 11:30am to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection. At the time of arrival was fifty- three children in care with 9 staff . Additional staff arrived during the inspection. The Licensing Inspector observed children arriving , reading books, playing with blocks, preparing for breakfast, diapering, story time, and games. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 7 staff records. Areas of non-compliance were reviewed with the assistant director.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-650-E
Description: Based on staff interview, the vendor did not ensure there was a written policy and procedures that that describes how the vendor will ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on February 7, 2019, staff #7 was not able to provide a written policy and procedures. Staff stated the support central is working on the policy and procedure.

Plan of Correction: : This written plan is included in the front of each of our curriculum boxes located in each classroom. All management and staff have been retrained as of 2/14/19 on how to find and articulate this.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5
Description: Based on staff interview, the vendor did not ensure procedure was created for the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during emergency. Evidence: During the inspection conducted on February 7, 2019, staff #7 was not able to provide a written policy and procedures. Staff stated the support central is working on the policy and procedures.

Plan of Correction: We are working in conjunction with our legal and operations team to come up with a consistent written policy to use at all schools for this standard. We intend to have this available at all schools on or before March 15, 2019. In the meantime, we have emergency bags in each classroom that include primary care items such as diapers, wipes, water, snacks, first aid kits, emergency contact info, and child entertainment pieces to take with us during any shelter in place or off site emergency location.
