63.2 Facilities & Programs.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 3:30 pm-4:45pm. 64 children were in care with 6 staff members present. Children were observed during eating afternoon snack, engaged in art and crafts activities, and going outside. Children were observed washing hands after eating their snack. 4 staff and 5 children's records and medications were reviewed. In addition to that emergency drill records and emergency supplies were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not maintain complete records for children enrolled. Evidence: 1. Child # 1's record stated that the first day of enrollment was 9/6/16. Annual updates of the child's record were not conducted since the child was enrolled. 2. Child # 2's and Child # 3's records did not have an authorized person to pick up listed. Plan of Correction: I will get the information from the parents and update the record.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not stored in a locked place making them accessible to children. Evidence: Two large bottles of cleaners were stored in the storage closet in the second classroom. The closet was not locked. Plan of Correction: The closet was locked during the inspection.
