Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with the director beginning at 10:20 AM and ending at 1:36 PM. There were 45 children, ages 2 months through 5 years old, in care during the inspection. The children were observed playing with toys, being read stories, and doing art projects. The children were observed eating lunch which consisted of pizza, broccoli, orange slices, and milk. Bathroom and hand washing procedures were observed and in compliance. Eight children's records and five staff members records were observed and in compliance. The playground was not inspected due to weather conditions. One medication was reviewed. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather-band radio were observed and in compliance. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed and in compliance. The most recent fire inspection was dated 3/27/18. The most recent health inspection was date 9/14/18. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on a review of documentation, the facility did not have a current long term authorization for all medications on site. Evidence: Child A's medication authorization expired 12/31/2018.

Plan of Correction: The facility will contact the parent and request an updated long term medication authorization. The facility will request that a ten day authorization is completed by the parent until the long term authorization can be completed.
