Technical Assistance:
Please notify your inspector of suspension or termination of services for more than 24 hours as a result of an emergency. Please complete http://www.dss.virginia.gov/facility/injury_report_subsidy.cgi to report any serious injury to the Division. Serious injuries are defined as an injury sustained while in day care that resulted in the child getting outside medical treatment.

Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted with the center director and center staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. All staff have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and are currently certified in first aid and CPR. There is one child with diagnosed food allergies currently enrolled; an allergy action plan is on file. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. The last lockdown drill was conducted 1/31/2019.
If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov. If you have specific questions regarding the subsidy program, visit our website at http://www.dss.virginia.gov/family/cc/assistance_providers.cgi.
