An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today beginning at 12:30pm and ending at 1:50pm. There were 31 children present with 3 staff. Children were observed completing independent activities such as homework and reading. 5 children's records, 3 staff records, emergency drills and procedures and required postings were reviewed. The director advised there was no medication on site. Staff records are reviewed annually in the administrative office, however, MAT (medication administration training) and first aid/CPR certificates were available for staff on site and all staff are current. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on record review, 2 of 5 children's records reviewed did not contain documentation a physical examination was obtained prior to or within 30 days of the child's first day of attendance at the program. Evidence: 1. Child #2 (Date of enrollment: 8/27/18)'s file did not contain documentation of a physical. 2. Child #4 (Date of enrollment: 9/18/17)'s file did not contain documentation of a physical. Plan of Correction: I will go talk to the school registrar and ensure the school does not have a copy on file. If the school does not have a copy then I will contact the children's parents to request a copy of the physical.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-E Description: Based on record review and staff interview, a complete record of evacuation drills was not kept on site. Evidence: 1. A completed fire drill for the month of February 2019 was not documented in the fire drill log. The last fire drill was conducted on 1/28/2019. 2. The director stated that a fire drill was conducted in February 2019, however, the date was not documented. Plan of Correction: I will ensure that all fire drills are documented in the future.
