Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was completed on March 19, 2019 from approximately 1:20p.m. to 3:45p.m. to review supplemental health and safety requirements. One hundred and eight children were in care during the inspection. Staff and children, ages infant to five to years old, were observed in eight classrooms with adequate staff ratios. There is an additional school age classroom but those children had not arrived. Children and staff were observed engaging in activities to include nap time, waking up from nap time, hand washing, snack time and outside play. Children?s equipment, learning materials, outdoor and classroom space, rest rooms and the first aid and emergency supplies were inspected. Eleven children?s records, ten staff records, annual fire and health inspections, fire drill, shelter in place and lock down drill logs, daily health observation and medication administration certifications, injury reports, daily attendance, the emergency preparedness plan, medication authorizations and logs and required postings were reviewed. The Director was available for interview and the inspection and was present at the exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed and an Acknowledgement of Inspection form was signed and left with the licensee. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
