- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding medication and training hours.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:00pm. There were 83 children directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, 3 medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, outdoor play, working independently on writing, spelling words, puzzles, coloring, painting and eating snack. Snack is provided daily by parent volunteers and consisted of yogurt, fruit, granola, hummus, celery, carrots, and pretzels. Bathrooming and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-70-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not maintain complete records for each staff member. Evidence: Staff 1 and 2 did not have written information to demonstrate that the individual has completed staff development required by the job position. Staff 1 and 2 have stated completion of training hours for the 2017-2018 but did not have documentation. Plan of Correction: Both staff will document the hours and provide certificates of trainings taken.
