Today an unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 10:15am and 1:25pm. At the start of the inspection there were a total of 91 children with 14 staff; all ratios were incompliance. A total of 5 children?s files and 8 staff files were reviewed. The infants were observed being fed bottles, playing on the floor, napping and receiving diaper changes. The preschoolers were observed playing outside, singing songs and being read to. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a physical exam within the first 30 days of enrollment for one child. Evidence: Child #2 (enrolled: 11/26/2018) does not have a physical exam on record. Plan of Correction: We will email the parents and ask them to provide this form from the doctor next week.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on record review, review of medications and interview, the center did not follow policies and procedures for administer medication. 1. Child #4's emergency medication expired 1/23/2019 and was observed in the two year old classroom. 2. A long-term medication authorization signed by a physician has not been obtained for two medications for Child #6. Both medication authorizations had been signed by the child's parents on 3/4/19. Plan of Correction: Both sets of parents will be contacted to provide new medication as well as the doctors authorization for the other medications.
