Comments:
An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection was conducted on April 16, 2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date (see separate report for details). Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in the licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. There were 97 children present ranging in age from 3 months to five years. All staff have documentation of the mandatory VA Pre-service Training and are currently certified in first aid and CPR. There are children with diagnosed food allergies with the required Allergy Action Plan. Reminder: evacuation drills are required monthly, shelter in place drills are required twice a year, and a lockdown drill is required once a year. Lockdown drills are to isolate children and staff from a security threat; shelter in place is to protect children from a natural or manmade threat. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at tara.barton@dss.virginia.gov.
