A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted in conjunction with a complaint investigation. The investigation was conducted with the director and owner beginning at 8:40 AM and ending at 9:55 AM. There were nineteen children in the care of seven staff during the inspection. The children were observed finishing and cleaning up after breakfast. Hand washing procedures were observed and in compliance. Children were also observed playing with toys and manipulatives. Three allergy care plans were reviewed and in compliance. The most recent lockdown drill was documented as 9/21/18. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-550-2 Description: Based on staff interview, the vendor failed to inform the department's representative of any injury to a child while under the vendor's supervision requiring treatment from a medical professional within two business days. Evidence: Staff stated that a child was injured at the facility on the playground and received medical treatment at the emergency room after being picked up by the parent. The Department of Social Services did not receive a report regarding the injury. Plan of Correction: The vendor was unaware that a report needed to be made to the department regarding the incident. The vendor stated that all injuries requiring medical treatment will be reported to the department within two business days.
