- Technical Assistance:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on Friday, April 26, 2019 to determine the program's compliance with licensing standards. The inspector arrived at 3:00pm and concluded the inspection at 5:00pm. The census for today?s inspection consisted of 64 children. The program?s site director assisted the inspector throughout today?s inspection. Upon the inspector's arrival, some of the children were observed in the cafeteria coloring, reading books, and doing homework. The inspector observed as different groups of children were dropped off at the program. Sign in procedures and accountability procedures were observed. The children were later observed during various transitions throughout the inspection. Staff interacted with children and parents in a positive manner. The areas where children receive care were inspected and found to be in compliance. The center had the following posted: license, daily schedule, emergency numbers, evacuation maps, menu and various parent information. The center's first aid kit and non-emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. Six children's records and emergency contacts for staff on site were reviewed during today's inspection. Staff records are maintained at a central location and will be inspected at a later time. Three emergency medications and authorizations were reviewed. The last documented evacuation drill was held on 04/11/2019. The last shelter-in-place drill was documented on 12/05/2018. The monthly menu was posted and today?s dinner consisted of cheese burger, bun, potato salad, fresh fruit, milk, and ketchup. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of six children's records on 04/26/2019, the center did not maintain the required information for six records reviewed. Evidence: 1) The record for Child #1, Child #2, Child #3, Child #4, Child #5, and Child #6 were missing the children's first dates of attendance. Each child record shall contain the child's first and last dates of attendance. 2) The record for Child #4 (DOE: 01/21/2019) was missing a second emergency contact. Each child record shall contain the name, address, and phone number of two designated people to call in an emergency if a parent cannot be reached. Plan of Correction: Per the Center: Files will be immediately correct with address at pick up for the child. Manager/directors will meet to create a system to track start dates.
