Technical assistance was provided regarding children's records and background checks.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:25am-1:15pm. There were 30 children directly supervised by 4 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 5 children?s records, 1 medication, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed practicing writing their names, learning the letter D by completing an art project and painting dolphins and practicing writing the number 4. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection and staff were observed providing one-on-one assistance to children. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children and the center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on record review, not all staff have documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening that was completed at least 21 days after beginning employment or within the 12 months prior to employment. Evidence: 1. Staff #3 (Date of Hire: 11/29/18) does not have a tuberculosis screening on file. Plan of Correction: I'm going to send this staff to get a new one today because the staff does not have a copy of the previous screening.
