63.2 Child Abuse & Neglect

Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding requirements for the annual review of the emergency preparedness plan. The renewal process and application requirements were discussed.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-12:45pm. There were 49 children directly supervised by 8 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 6 children?s records, 5 medications, evacuation drills, the menu, first aid kit, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed reading books, singing in English and Spanish, taking a walk outside, eating snack, which consisted of cucumber and dip, crackers, and water, and also practicing writing and subtraction. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children and the center was clean and organized.
